Meet Dr. Conan Zhu

I was born in Bath, Maine to immigrant parents who moved to the United States seeking better opportunities for their family. We eventually settled in St. Louis, MO, where I attended the University of Missouri–Columbia (MIZ-ZOU!) and earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology. From there, I completed my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Dentistry. Since graduating, I have completed a myriad of continuing education courses to stay up to date with the latest techniques to provide the highest quality of care for my patients. I take pride in being a life long learner, often completing hundreds of hours of continuing education a year, well beyond the minimum requirements.
In 2019, I married my high school sweetheart, Ariel, and today we share our home with two energetic pups — Blitz the German Shepherd and Lola the Dachshund. Outside of the office, I love cooking gourmet meals, skiing, camping, traveling, and working on my golf game.
As a dentist, my philosophy is simple: your health, your comfort, and your trust always come first. I’m passionate about creating a space where patients feel at ease, informed, and cared for like family. Registered Dental Hygienist
I am a Colorado native that loves all the natural beauty that this state has to offer. I graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at CCD in 2017 with honors as the student representative and received the Professional Leadership award. My focus is evidence-based dentistry along with gentle, but thorough dental cleanings. With a strong passion in public health, my hope is to help reduce oral health disparities. I am married with three incredible children and two pit bull rescues. Our family motto is “love and kindness are never wasted.” I am excited to join the Miyamoto team with the same energy.

Registered Dental Hygienist
I am originally from California, but grew up in the Midwest. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan. I have a passion for oral health education and strive to create an enjoyable and informative experience for all patients. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and what makes them happy. Getting to build relationships while caring for others is one of the major reasons for why I love my career.
I moved to Colorado to be closer to the mountains and experience more sunny days where I can enjoy my outdoor interests year-round. I enjoy hiking, cycling, kayaking, and discovering new parks where I can hammock when I need to relax.

I am a Certified EDDA with over 7 years of experience. I am passionate about taking care of my patient’s needs and making sure they have the best dental experience when they’re in my chair. My goal is to learn something new every day to make sure I become better personally and professionally.

I am a Colorado native and am a mother of two! I love spending time with my family and traveling with them as much as I can. I am extremely excited to be a part of the SMYLE Dental Design team!

I am a Colorado native! I love living in Colorado and don’t ever see myself leaving this beautiful state. Outside of the office I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, watching movies, playing video games, and hanging out with my dog named Flynn and my cat named Pax.
I am so grateful to have joined the SMYLE Dental Design team! I really appreciate that this office strives to make connections with patients and gives them exceptional care. My goal for the future is to go to school to become a hygienist so that I can become even more knowledgeable in the dental field. I can’t wait to continue to help patients with their dental and overall health.

Office Coordinator

Florida-born and raised, Ciara relocated to Colorado in October 2025 and brings more than ten years of experience in dentistry to our team. Her passion for patient care shines through in everything she does whether she’s helping someone feel comfortable during their visit or guiding them through their treatment plan with clarity and compassion.

Outside the office, Ciara loves exploring her new home state with her high-school sweetheart, whom she’s been with since 2014, and their two husky pups who are absolutely loving the Colorado weather. She enjoys being outdoors, discovering new trails, and taking in everything Colorado has to offer.

Office Coordinator
As a proud Colorado native, I love spending time outdoors especially fishing and being in the mountains. Outside of work, quality time with my husband, our two grown children, and our 11-year-old golden retriever is what I cherish most. We love hosting friends and family and making lasting memories at home.

In addition to my role in the dental world, I’m also a licensed real estate agent. Helping people navigate the home buying and selling process is a passion of mine.

I am happy to be a new member of the SMYLE Dental Design team.

A Dental Practice Built For Everyone

Our History

The story of SMYLE Dental Design is rooted in a legacy of family care. Dr. Paul Miyamoto began his dental career in Aurora in 1971 and opened his own practice in 1974. For more than 40 years, he cared for generations of patients and built lifelong connections. In 2017, his daughter, Dr. Kim Miyamoto, joined the practice and continued that tradition with the same dedication and compassion.

When Dr. Kim retired in 2024, she entrusted her patients to Dr. Conan Zhu – not only because of his skill and integrity, but because his values mirror the Miyamoto family’s. Dr. Zhu is honored to carry forward that legacy under a new name: SMYLE Dental Design.
While our name has changed, our commitment remains the same: to deliver exceptional dentistry built on relationships, trust, and care for the whole family.
