What to Expect at Your First Visit
When you arrive, our friendly team will take a few minutes to get to know you. We’ll ask about your medical and dental history, including any medications, vitamins, or supplements you’re currently taking. This helps us create the safest, most personalized care plan possible.
Next, you’ll receive a comprehensive exam that may include:
- Digital x-rays for a clear look at your teeth and bone health
- A gentle, non-invasive oral cancer screening
- Periodontal probing to check your gum health
- Charting of existing dental work
If your gums are healthy and no signs of gum disease are present, you’ll also receive a routine cleaning at this first visit. If we do notice any concerns – or if your first appointment is an emergency visit – we may schedule your cleaning for another day so we can give you the focused care you need.

After your exam, Dr. Zhu will sit down with you to review his findings and discuss your options. Together, you’ll create a treatment plan that reflects your priorities and helps you achieve a healthy, confident smile. We encourage you to ask questions and share your goals – your input is an essential part of the process.
